AFFORDABLE UTILITARIAN BAGS

Although I have a boatload of girl purses, my daily go to is the modest utilitarian tote. And because most of them are easy on the wallet, it's hard not to buy like, fifty of them.
1. Session Tote $32  from Salt Surf; 2. Duffle $45 from Ace Hotel; 3. Boat Tote $80 from General Store SF; 4. Top-Load Duffle $40 from Ace Hotel

Robert Moore is so effing cool. Period. He surfs, rides motorcycles, and does some badass batiking at his studio in Bali.

NAUTICAL AWESOMENESS

It's the height  of Summer and all I want to do is throw out all my dark decor and replace them with red,  white, and blue stripes, anchors, and life preservers.

BLUE

Growing up in California, it was was imperative that at some point you would either end up near or in the ocean. Now that I live far from the Pacific, it's always nice to have a little blue around the house to remind me of the sea.

Whew! It's been a tough couple of weeks without a computer. But, after three weeks of waiting on checks from Rental Insurance I finally have a new Macbook Pro. Getting burglarized is no fun.

Ok - so now onto more important things... stationary. With the boom of all things handmade, stationary is definitely experiencing new heights of appreciation and popularity. Maybe it's because people miss having a reason to buy cute stickers colored pens. Or - maybe people like having chic office supplies to match their expensive shoes. No matter how simple or extravagant your stationary and pencil needs may be, there are plenty of options available on Etsy. My favorite selection is from Knot & Bow. I love how on trend they are with color!

MUUTO ADAPTABLE TABLE

I swear I'm not into hoarding, but when I see an amazing price for something extremely useful I can't help myself. Behold - the majestic Muuto Adaptable Table!

Although our 650 sq. ft. cottage lacks the space for a 78" inch dining table, I thought that this would be an opportunity to start collecting for a larger and more spacious place in the future. This is what I'm daydreaming to couple the Muuto table with in the future

MIKE MILLS FOR COMMUNE

Mike Mills has been one of the most influential people in my life. Filmmaker, graphic designer, and artist - Mills' multidisciplinary talent is so influential. Not to mention all of his clients and subject matter, which range from skateboarding to Sonic Youth. One of his most recent works is a set of posters for Commune Design.

And some favorites from previous decades...

NEW LAMP

Found this at Grandview Mercantile for $55.00! I've been looking for a bedside reading lamp for a while, so when I saw this Koch and Lowy sitting in the corner of the store I quickly rescued it.

SICK THIS WEEKEND

For the past two weeks at work, my co-workers and I have been suffering from colds and influenza. Unfortunately, when my came turn came it extended to Memorial Day weekend. So instead of barbeques and booze, I've been sucking down NyQuil and Naked Juice. Oh well - at least I finally had the chance to see what all the fuss was all about with Downton Abbey. I laid in bed and watched both seasons for three days straight. So much outfit envy!

ROUND OBJECTS

When it comes to grouping things together around the house, the first thing that I usually consider is shape. In this case, I chose round and bulbous vessels. The wooden object was a find from Etsy. I'm still trying to figure out what it is - pole holder? sandwich rest? Oh well, I still think it looks cool.

KEEPIN' IT ORGANIZED

Now that I'm no longer in my twenties, I feel like it's unacceptable to just shove loose papers into my bag. Not to mention extremely embarrassing when I pull out legal documents covered in tobacco confetti and purse dirt - total amateur adult move. This is when I realized I needed to get something professional and chic to solve my scrunchy paper woes. Cue Clare Vivier's Foldover Clutch and Ernest Alexander's Orange Zip Folio - two equally chic and equally sophisticated carryalls that say "Hire me - I keep my papers in check and I'm fashionable."

JUNIPER RIDGE

Whenever I miss California, Juniper Ridge seems to be the solution. Their products are comprised of aromatics from the mountains and deserts of the west.
